Aspen Travel of Urmston Manchester have won another accolade the "Leisure Agent of the Year Award" at the ADVANTAGE Travel Consortium conference held the 5-star Radisson Edwardian Hotel at London Heathrow on the 18th, 19th & 20th of September.
Advantage Travel is the UK's largest consortium of over 700 independent travel agents.
Upon receiving the award Karen Allen, Sales and Marketing Director for Aspen, said "This is an incredible honour, we are quite shocked considering the competition and current climate."
Unfortunately no one was able to go to London to receive the award as they are all attending the wedding of IT Manager Luke Byrne at Mottram Hall, Cheshire and Karen has to assist her son move to Sheffield University to start a 3 year music degree course".
Because of this the news of the award came as a complete surprise. Allen continues "The first we knew was when a film crew burst into the shop on Higher Road, Urmston. I was in the middle of finalising an all inclusive Club Med holiday to Mauritius, I nearly fell off my chair. We then had to go and stand on the street with colleagues Liz and Lucy and perform our acceptance speech to be shown this weekend at the conference...it reminded me of the Oscars in Hollywood and us in Urmston saying 'we are so sorry we can’t be with you tonight etc etc'"
This accolade represents the second award this year for the Manchester based online travel agent. As well as Leisure Agent of the Year they were also named the North West Agent of The year in April. Aspen Travel are the team behind the popular lowcostdeals.co.uk holiday website. They carry a huge range of holidays, cruises and tours and specialise in offering Club Med, Mark Warner and Kuoni holidays many at discount prices.
