Musto congratulate Tina Cook

Musto sponsored athlete Tina Cook won individual and team gold at the HSBC FEI European Eventing Championships on Sunday (27/09) riding Miners Frolic in Fontainebleau, France.

Tina was also part of the British team that picked up its eighth successive team gold medal, along with fellow Musto-sponsored rider William Fox-Pitt, who finished fourth individually.  Tina also set a new record, as the first mother to win an individual gold medal; she now has the full set of individual European medals having won silver in 1993 and bronze in 1997.

Her European triumph comes on the back of the two bronze medals she won on her Olympic debut in Beijing last summer.

Tina commented after winning, “Its one of the greatest days of my life and I can’t believe it.  I have a great partnership with my horse who tries hard to leave the fences up.”

Musto have sponsored Tina for over ten years, supplying her and her team with clothing enabling her to concentrate fully on training and competing whatever the weather.  Tina has won European medals at junior and young rider level before gaining her first senior team appearance in 1993 where she won individual silver.

The European Eventing Championships is a bi-annual competition which began in 1953, in the British town of Badminton. Since then Britain has hosted the event ten times, and won 22 team gold medals, making them the most successful nation in the competition’s history.

Musto, with the slogan “Keeping athletes warm, dry and comfortable“, is the world's leading sailing and country sports clothing brand, and is further extending into lifestyle outdoor clothing. Established in 1965, it was founded by Keith Musto, a British Olympic sailor and engineer, who combined his sports and technical expertise to create product to withstand even the most extreme conditions.

ZENOS IT TRAINING ACADEMY

Are you between 16 and 18 years old, and considering a career in IT? Or are you already employed in the sector, and simply wish to add to your skills and qualifications? Then why not enhance your career prospects with a Zenos training programme.

Now in its eighth year, Zenos is the UK’s leading provider of IT Support training, and the largest Microsoft Training Academy in Europe.

The Banbury-based company trains over 1500 people a year, through their network of 22 Academies spread right across the country. It is the brainchild of George and Sandra Anderson, who had both enjoyed successful careers with Xerox before forming Zeros in 2001.

Funded by the Government’s Learning and Skills Council (LSC), Zenos delivers full-time training programmes to young people wanting to get onto the IT career ladder. They also offer post-training careers advice in order to help graduates secure that all-important first job.

Courses at Zenos last for 20 weeks, with two intakes starting in September and February. Programmes are delivered via a number of methods including workshops, one-to-one tutoring and independent study. All learners are treated as “employees”, and the professional environment of the Zenos Academies will show you what to expect when you enter the “real world of work”.

Zenos’ programmes are run under the LSC’s Advanced Apprenticeship scheme, and provide students with internationally recognised Vendor qualifications for companies such as Microsoft and Cisco. They also offer programmes that are tailor-made for a number of their clients, including blue-chip companies such as Fujitsu and Xerox. As well as their IT qualifications, graduating students will receive an industry-recognised Level 3 NVQ certificate.

In summer 2008 Zenos was rated “outstanding” in every key area of inspection by the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted), so you can be assured of receiving the highest quality of teaching from their training staff. This is reflected in the 80 per cent pass rate for their Systems Support and Software Development programmes, which is almost twice the national average.

Zenos students also achieve above-average employment levels upon completing their training programmes. More than 80 per cent of Academy graduates will obtain full-time employment within the IT industry, and will typically earn up to 40 per cent more per year than others in their age group.

And it’s not just your IT career that Zenos could help launch. This year the company launched their own X Factor-style talent show for existing Zenos students. Auditions for the “Z Factor” were held right across the country, and the seven finalists will compete in front of a live audience at the Z Factor final, which will be held at Alton Towers on 22nd October.

As well as the full-time training programmes offered at their Academies, Zenos also offer work-based training schemes for those already working in the IT industry who want to gain higher-level skills and qualifications. These are open to anyone over the age of 16, and are delivered at your place of work by Zenos Trainers and Programme Facilitators.

For more information about any of the training programmes offered by Zenos, or to register for an Academy open day, visit their website at http://www.zenos.com.

The beautiful architecture and narrow paved streets are designed to replicate a traditional Sicilian village, which makes for a charming holiday environment. Families can relax by one of Kamarina’s three swimming pools, including the largest pool of any Club Med resort, and a heated pool inside the hotel. There's also Hobie cat sailing for the more adventurous.

3. Hammamet – Tunisia

Sitting in the Gulf of Hammamet, the strong local culture is evident all around this Club Med village, from the mouth-watering cuisine to the vibrant and colourful bungalows. Guests can go sailing in a catamaran, or relax in the on-site spa, before taking an evening stroll along the 300-metre beach that lines the resort.

4. Gregolimano – Greece

This recently refurbished village on the Greek island of Evia is famous for its sandy white beaches and deep blue Aegean waters. After a long of day of waterskiing and tennis, the poolside bar is perfect for winding down and enjoying the cool evening breeze.

5. Beldi – Turkey

Situated in the “Turkish Riviera”, Beldi is surrounded by exotic bays and historic attractions. While the kids master the tightrope at Circus School, adults can relax with a massage or a Turkish bath in the cooling shade of the nearby pine grove.

6. Kemer – Turkey

Located near the Turkish town of Antalya, the site for this Club Med village was discovered just 30 years ago. As a result, the natural, untamed surroundings give Kemer an exotic and laid-back atmosphere. Why not dance away the afternoons at Salsa classes, then show off your new moves at the open-air disco in the evenings.

7. Da Balaia – Portugal
This Club Med village in the Algarve is the perfect destination for a golfing getaway, with more than 15 courses nearby to add to the resort’s own putting green. But if handicap isn't up to scratch, then you can always sample the specialist Moroccan cuisine whilst absorbing the spectacular ocean views that Da Balaia’s cliff-top setting provides.
